A Professional Bloodhound Training and all Breed Tracking and Trailing Dog School

Doug is a former Trooper with the Maryland State Police, recently retiring after a career of over 32 years, 2Doug Lowry6 of those years being spent as a K-9 handler. During this span, Doug has trained and handled patrol dogs, narcotics dogs, bomb dogs, a gun dog, a cadaver dog and man-trailing Bloodhounds. Doug was Head Trainer for his agency for approximately 8 years, training several dog teams for the State Police. During those years Doug assisted many local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on search and rescue calls and criminal cases. Doug and his K-9 partners have many finds and captures to their credit, to include 5 “life-saving” finds with his bloodhounds. He has participated as a field training instructor for numerous trailing dog seminars throughout the country where he shares his real life trailing knowledge. Doug is currently the president of the National Police Bloodhound Association and a senior field training instructor. Doug served as an instructor and performance evaluator for the California P.O.S.T. Bloodhound Tracking Class in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He is recognized has an expert witness in the field of man-trailing bloodhound testimony in Maryland and California where he has testified in high profile cases. Doug is well respected in the K9 world for his accomplishments as a handler and trainer. Doug enjoys attending and teaching at various seminars allowing him the opportunity to learn new ideas and techniques from other handlers and trainers in attendance.
